Are you someone who loves to sing or play an instrument, and are looking to join with others in an informal, relaxed, welcoming, musical environment? We invite musical volunteers from the congregation (ages 13 and up) to participate in special musical Shabbat services throughout the year.
The “4th Friday Musical Shabbat” series is a wonderful opportunity to explore your musical connection to Judaism. Several times a year we create a Shabbat service centered on a particular musical theme: Jewish Love Songs, for example, or Music By Contemporary Jewish Composers. Once the repertoire has been established, volunteers can choose to participate in as many songs as they feel comfortable with. You can sing a solo, perform a duet, or be in the Ensemble. It’s a great opportunity to experience live performance, for your fellow congregants, and with your fellow congregants.
Our annual Shabbat Shirah services are another wonderful and rewarding way to get involved musically with your synagogue community.
No auditions or previous experience required, and all levels of musical knowledge and ability are welcome. Check the CKH calendar for upcoming dates that you can get involved.
