Director of Education

Lauren Poretsky

Lauren previously served on the educational teams at Bet Torah, Mount Kisco, Temple Beth El of Huntington, NY, and The Jewish Learning Center at her hometown synagogue, North Shore Jewish Center, Port Jefferson Station, NY, helping to launch new toddler, youth and family education programs, revamp curriculum, and plan lively holiday events and community-wide celebrations. Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Binghamton University and is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts, Visual Arts, at the Vermont College of Fine Arts.

Her passions for art, learning, and Judaism continue to guide her mentally and spiritually as a creative Jewish educator. Lauren’s mission of inclusive coalition and her imaginative spirit will bring new and engaging ideas, play, and fun to our congregation. When she’s not working, she enjoys live music, cooking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her partner, Sarah, and their animals!
