On Wednesday, September 27, we started learning about Joshua, as part of our Nvi-im (prophets) section. Joshua was both a prophet and a warrior, who led the Jewish people into the land of Canaan (Israel) after Moses died. Using different texts from the book of Joshua, we learned that Joshua was a loyal prophet of God, a great military leader, and a great administrator.
With the short time we had left, we discussed Yom Kippur, it's meaning and customs, and I shared my memories of Yom Kippur from the time I was their age in Israel.

On Sunday, we started the class by listening to Avinu Malkeinu and then discussed the lyrics and their meaning. We discussed the high holidays and Rabbi Tuling and our madrich Ben demonstrated the shofar for the students!
