Hebrew

Shalom Parents,

Now that we finished reviewing the Hebrew letters and vowels, it’s time to start our first prayer of the year. The prayer is called Avot V’Ima-hote. From now on, the student’s homework assignment will be to practice reading the prayer. Each student has his/her own progress pace, which is why I would not post specific lines to study here, on the blog. However, it will be on their individual homework assignment calendar. As always, please do not forget to sign the proper box on the calendar after your child finishes practicing.

Shanah Tovah U'metukah,

Yifat

Judaica

Today we started an introduction to the Amidah. Students imagined, discussed and wrote about the steps they might take to ask their parents for something they want, to think about how we have to prepare to communicate with the person we are requesting something of. We then discussed how we actually do something similar each time we pray, so that we approach God with the right attitude. We continued the lesson with essential vocals and discussion addressing the topic of how prayer is connected to how we approach our relationship with others and with God.
