4th Grade Blog                                                    November 5-8, 2017

On Wednesday, November 8th, we started to learn about Eretz Yisrael (The Land of Israel). We watched a video, Israel: Small but Outstanding, showing Israel's diverse geography, elaborate history and vibrant present. Click here to check it out!

We read some of the Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel in order to try and understand why is Eretz Yisrael is so important to Am Yisrael, and to each one of the students, too. Finally, for some challenging fun, we colored a map of Israel with different colors to illustrate its geographic diversity.

On Sunday, we took a deeper look at the second line of the Shema. We discussed the history behind the words and practiced saying them out loud. We began deconstructing the translated words of the Shema and V’ahavta

The students are still working on the Yotzer Or prayer. Please look inside their folder for specific homework assignments. Please make sure your child comes prepared to class and do not forget to sign their homework calendar after they finish their assignments.
