The Glastonbury Interfaith Leaders have come together to help feed the 700 children who will not be receiving the free lunch meal (for some their only hot meal of the day) now that the school system has closed.
If you would like to help, here's how:
Purchase or find any of the following food items:
-Peanut butter
-Chunky soups and stews
-Pasta and Pasta sauce in plastic jars
-Cereal — cold and hot
-Canned fruit/vegetables
-Mac and cheese
-100% fruit juice

Drop off items at the Lutheran Church of St. Mark, 75 Griswold Street (across from Nabuc Elementary School) between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 15 (and as many following Sundays as necessary)

Help pack food boxes at St. Mark starting at 1:00 PM on Sunday. You may want to bring gloves.

Our 18’ truck will arrive at St. Marks at 12:30 pm on Sunday. It will have some supplies (like laundry rolling baskets and banquet tables) to make packing easier. The school district will bring bags and boxes.
We will create grocery bags of food for families; the plan is to hand out one bag per car/walk-up customer. We are using the honor system; anyone who comes will get food, so long as supplies last.

We will offer bags of food from 9-12 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at the following locations:

Monday: Welles Village at their distribution point
Tuesday: the parking lot of Congregation Kol Haverim at 1079 Hebron Ave.
Wednesday: the parking lot of South Church at 949 Main St. in South Glastonbury

Extra food will be stored at St. Marks, as we will likely need to do this again next week.
Thank you all for making this thing happen!
