ON-GOING PROGRAMS AND SERVICES GRiSLY Odd Jobs Service This service provides Kol Haverim members (and nonmembers) with the opportunity to hire out groups of teenagers in our Youth Group for various jobs. We can rake, mow, shovel, babysit, help you prepare to move, or do any other chores that need to be done around your house. Your support of this program will help to fund further Youth Group activities. If you have any questions, or would like to inquire about our services, please contact Joshua Kaplan at 657-8571. RECENT PAST EVENTS v We would like to thank Fred Mann for the opportunity to put our GRiSLY Odd Jobs Service to its very first test in our mowing and raking of his lawn, and for his generous donation on our behalf. v Our first Social event within the Youth Group, the Dinner and a Movie, was very fun, and was a great opportunity to get to know the other high school students in the GRiSLY Youth Group. We look forward to similar get-together events in the future! ABOUT GRiSLY GRISLY is Kol Haverim's Temple Youth Group for grades 9 - 12. ABOUT NFTY (The following is an excerpt from www.nfty.org, the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY) website) For over sixty years, the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY) has offered thousands of young people the opportunity to explore and live Reform Judaism. Today, over 450 Reform congregations throughout North America sponsor Temple Youth Groups, bringing the NFTY experience to more than 10,000 high school-age young people. Through involvement opportunities offered by congregations, our 19 NFTY regions, and on the North American level, NFTYites strive to forge an identity in consonance with the goals and values of Reform Judaism. |
