 A native of Miami, Florida, Tami has been a performing and recording artist since the age of 16. She is the winner of various vocal competitions, awards, scholarships and fellowships. She came to Boston on scholarship to attend the internationally renowned New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA, where she was granted her Master of Music degree. She was subsequently awarded a full Doctoral Fellowship by the University of Connecticut to teach voice and direct the "Women in the Arts" program.
Tami has performed and recorded in many genres of music ranging from popular contemporary music, broadway, big band and operatic music, to religious and klezmer music. Notably As a coloratura soprano, her signature role is the heroine Olympia in Offenbach's French opera 'The Tales of Hoffmann'. Her most recent operatic work was with the Opera New England company and orchestra at Hyde Cultural Park Auditorium. Recent engagements include musical theater engagements to sing for various summer music festivals in the Adirondack mountains of New York.
Among Tami's numerous performance awards, including the Local Chapters of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Vocal Award in Florida and the Concerto/Aria Competition of South Florida. Tami continues to work as a contemporary recording artist for private studios and composers.
Tami performs regularly with the klezmer band Klezmen, most recently at the Summer Gazebo Music series at Elmwood Community Center and Nathan Hale Inn. She has performed throughout greater Boston, Massachusetts and Miami, Florida, Los Angeles, CA and througout Connecticut in various professional productions of differing genres.
Tami serves as cantor/music director for Glastonbury, Connecticut’s Congregation Kol Haverim, since being hired in 1995. Prior to that, she served Boston area temple Tifereth Israel of Malden, Massachusetts. She continues there weekly.
Her students have starred in many professional productions including lead roles at Goodspeed Opera House and have appeared on television and work as contemporary musical artists.
Tami has also been engaged as a judge for singing competitions, including the Greater Hartford Idol competition.
Tami resides in Glastonbury, CT, counting her most proud accomplishment as her son Daniel, age 9.
