Fiddler on the Roof! - GHS - March 13th, 2010 |
Join us for an evening of fun and entertainment on Saturday, March 13th. Glastonbury High School’s spring musical is Fiddler on the Roof. If you have not been to one of the major high school productions, you will be amazed at the job they do. This is the perfect show to enjoy with your Kol Haverim family! In addition, if you have young children who may aspire to acting or music, they will get a great sense of what can be done at the high school level. We will be obtaining a block of tickets and hope to make this event even more fun by gathering at the temple for a pot luck dinner and Havdalah before the production. Show time is at 7:00 pm, so the event at the temple would have to wrap up around 6:15.
Please RSVP as soon as you can to Howie or Beth Breinan:

Life Long Learning Leads Us to the Lower East Side |
For some, the Lower East Side is a part of their childhood. For some it represents stories read and heard. On Sunday, November 8, 12 of our congregants joined a full bus of people on a trip, sponsored by the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford, to the Lower East Side. We toured 3 living historic synagogues there. The Life Long Learning Committee facilitated our visiting The Eldridge Street Museum (the Eldridge Street Synagogue), Bialystoker Synagogue, and Kehila Kedosha Janina. The Eldridge Street Synagogue had undergone a $20 million renovation and was so inspiring! To read more about this synagogue, CLICK HERE (PDF file, 9 MB). The beautiful weather that day added to the tour and even allowed some to walk a side trip to Katz’s Deli! For pictures of event... |
