Congregation Kol Haverim of Glastonbury, Conn., is proud and pleased to partner with the 92 St Y and the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) to bring a series of live interactive broadcasts to the Greater Hartford community. Live from NY's 92nd Street Y™, now in its ninth year, is a series of lectures, interviews, panels, and readings featuring newsmakers, political figures, opinion-shapers and authors who discuss the issues and events that affect our lives. Using satellite technology, the 92Y simultaneously broadcasts their renowned educational and cultural programming to community organizations across America.

Our third program is an evening with Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Novelist and law professor Thane Rosenbaum joins Justice Sotomayor for the conversation.

The appointment of Sonia Sotomayor to the United States Supreme Court electrified the nation. The first Hispanic Justice on the high court, her life story is truly compelling. Raised in a Bronx housing project, she was educated at Princeton and Yale, and went on to work as a Manhattan prosecutor and then a federal judge. Now she is the author of a memoir, My Beloved World, a revealing book about the personal values and important influences that propelled this fascinating American success story. Join us for this most special occasion: the celebration of a New York life.

This event is open to ALL! Our evening at Congregation Kol Haverim will begin with refreshments at 7:15 pm, with the broadcast starting at 8 pm. Most 92Y Live programs run about 75 to 90 minutes. We invite you stay after for discussion. We are excited to share this fascinating opportunity with the Greater Hartford community and beyond!

Tickets are required for this event. Advance tickets are $10 (donation); students free. If available, tickets will be sold at the door for $15. You may also choose to send a check directly to Congregation Kol Haverim, 1079 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
